A creative home on Broad Street.
Our roots are in Black Iris, where Richmond’s gallery, live music, and gathering spaces meet. In the city’s Arts District, Black Iris brings exhibitions, performances, screenings, and conversations into the same creative orbit. It’s a place for artists, musicians, neighbors, and people who arrive curious.
That mix matters to us. A gallery can introduce you to a new way of seeing. An intimate show can introduce you to your next favorite band. The conversation afterward can turn strangers into collaborators. We believe the rooms where those things happen are part of what makes a city feel alive.
The Black Iris Foundation vision.
The vision for Black Iris Foundation grows from that same belief: creativity should open doors. We want to carry the energy of the gallery and the stage into opportunities for others, with music education, access to instruments, and young people’s creative possibilities at the heart of our ambitions.
For Jeff Palumbo, Setlist for Good is a personal way to connect a love of live music with that purpose. Bring artists and fans together. Preserve something meaningful. Give the story somewhere new to go.
Small stages. Big memories.
Our love of music includes the whole room: the musicians, the venue, the crew, and the fans who know every word. From an intimate performance space to a packed concert hall, a great show leaves something behind.
Sometimes that something is a sheet of paper. A handwritten change. An encore squeezed into the margin. Tape still clinging to the corners. A setlist holds the shape of a particular night, and the people who were there know why it matters.
A second act for the music.
Setlist for Good is our way of putting those memories to work. Artists, bands, crews, and fans can offer original physical setlists, share the stories behind them, and help build a collection intended to raise funds for charitable causes.
Our aim is to turn a keepsake from one person’s unforgettable night into an opportunity for someone else: a first instrument, a chance to learn, or support when it matters. Specific beneficiaries and grant arrangements will be shared as they are confirmed.
Come be part of the story.
Have an original setlist or a connection to an artist who might donate? We’d love to hear from you.
